Working in theatre with Scottish and Irish new writing that has a predominant theme of the relationship between people and land, Fiona is exploring the boundaries of her practice by making experimental responses to the changing North Kent urban landscape in the massive Thames Gateway regeneration zone surrounding her studio.

Artists Walk Medway invited artists to ‘beat the bounds’ of their artistic parish, ‘tagging’ the route with thoughts, wishes and ideas for both preservation and change.

Made in collaboration with visual artist Stephen Turner and documented in video and stills by film-maker Margherita Gramegna and photographer Sara Norling, walking artists were invited to contribute to the Medway Cosmos , a mapping process that was the original inspiration for the day.

This process of mapping and walking remains a catalyst to Fiona's ongoing research and project development work into the role of scenography in place-making.
